I'm at a loss...

Vanessa here...

Well, it's February...the long, cold, dark month. It's also the month of forced love. I'm feeling a bit left out. William has a new boyfriend named Dane, and they're disgustingly cute together. Griz has a crush on someone at work, but is sort of seeing this guy who lives down in Braintree (south of Boston.) And me...well, here I sit. Just me and reality TV. It's so depressing.

And then there's this blog. The Adventures of Vanessa Virtue is a year old as of the end of January (in lieu of gifts, please send cash) and I just feel like I'm running out of steam. I don't feel like I'm amply entertaining my audience.

Am I? Come on, I'm a big girl...I can take it.

Sure, I could go on for days about the TV I watch: Project Runway, Top Model, My Name is Earl, a little sneaking of The Bachelor, Skating with Celebrities, Will & Grace, Grey's Anatomy, Everybody Hates Chris and so many other shows. But how much entertainment does that give you?

I could post quizzes like this one...or this one...or maybe even this one, but would it keep you coming back?

I could talk about my life, but right now it's quite boring. Busy at work, no boyfriend, no social life. Is that what you want to hear?

We could discuss what's going on in the world of high fashion (Fashion Week in NYC!) or entertainment (wanna talk about Super Bowl ad? Loved the magic refrigerator) or sports (what's with Wayne Gretzsky's wife placing bets?) Let's stay away from politics...I'm too polarized towards one side of the spectrum and I'd probably run some of you off.

You could check out some of my favorite blogs that I frequent like this one and this one and this is a wicked good one, too. But then I want you staying here with me and hanging out here.

I've been getting into cooking a lot, so I could share recipes for things Colorful Chicken Roulade or Polenta Bites with Caramelized Mushrooms or maybe you should try Black Magic Cake. Would you like more chatter about cooking? (Oh, and you can bet I'll be watching Bravo's Top Chef when it comes on.)

Maybe I need a break. Maybe I need a trip to Miami Beach. Or Antigua-Bermuda. Or what about a getaway at Les Sources de Caudalie getting pampered and wined up?

What do you think? How can I spice things up here without posting my pornagraphic day dreams?

So, as we age a year, let me thank you for coming back time and again to my little corner of the world. You mean a ton to me!

Hugs and hang loose,
Double Vee

I'm not a regular, daily reader (Should I really be admitting tha now??!?!?!?) but I do drop in every couple of days to see what's new in your life.

Congrats on a year!! Keep doing what you're doing - you're very entertaining and the variety of topics keep me coming back.

I think you should continue with what's on your mind.....
